I had some medical appointments but I didn’t have any “on the go” knitting locked and loaded. My Coorie in Poncho is ready for short rows and I don’t have new socks cast on yet. So I decided to start a quick hat.

I didn’t have any skeins ready so I grabbed my bag of worsted weight scraps and did a little pairing of up of yarn. I pulled some grey solids and a purple and grey variegated for the first part. And then I pulled a black and then blue/black variegated.
My plan is to knit these yarns helically and alternate the yarns to create a unique fabric. I used the grey colors to knit the brim. And I am going to work a folded brim. I cast on 90 stitches to make a large and accommodating hat. I am using the US 8 needles.
So far the fabric is turning out nicely and the fabric a wee bit dense. I’ll need to keep knitting in order to make decisions about this project. It will most certainly be “unique” and will go into the donation pile if it works.
Happy Knitting!!
