My This Ain’t a Scene Sockhead Slouch hat is done done done!
I used some Countess Ablaze Blueface Baron Fingering in the This Ain’t A Scene colorway. I won this jewel of a skein back here. I followed the Sockhead Slouch by Kelly McClure using 3 US needles. I didn’t check gauge and I’m not sure I measured completely accurately in each section. So my hat isn’t as slouchy as some I’ve seen. And I’m pretty sure that due to knitting the decreases while knitting in the wild made me have some unintentional design features, lol. But it’s finished and fits me nonetheless.
I gave the hat a nice bath and light blocking to even out my stitches. And i’m looking forward to wearing this hat yet this winter!
It seems like winter should be about over but we have miles and miles to go yet. The germs brought in by a certain toddler have really hit our house hard. Since Christmas we have had colds, the stomach flu, and now pink eye. I’m so over it!
The only bright side is that my Sockhead hat has seen some decent progress!
I finished the brim and an inch of stockinette while home with a sick baby. The other couple of inches of stockinette are thanks to back to back webinars at work last week.
I’m IN LOVE with this yarn. The speckles are just the right amount of cheer to ward off the grey winter. I’m a little hopeful I can finish these before the super bowl so I can have another FO for the Pigskin Party KAL.
Late last year the Yarniacs podcast had a giveaway sponsored by Countess Ablaze. And this lucky duck won! I won some The Bluefaced Baron Fingering in the This Aint A Scene colorway. It’s crazy and gorgeous! And most definitely going to grow up to be a hat/mitts or a shawl….I just can’t decide!
And as a bonus Countess Ablaze threw in cotton a-tote bag complete with logo!
Pardon me…but I’m going to do some Rav searching to match this with some potential patterns!
