Cast On: Sharing Creativity Cowl #2

I couldn’t help myself and it was easy to do because I still had all the supplies rounded up, I cast on another Sharing Creativity SB Cowl

I used the last end from the first skein and then joined the full second skein. I will just tuck in the ends. This was my knitting that kept me sane during a public work meeting that went to 11:50 pm.

I still have a ways to go on the increases but it’s a solid start. I still don’t love increasing on this super bulky but I shall persevere!

Happy Knitting!!

Finished: Sharing Creativity Cowl

The Sharing Creativity Cowl is DONE!

Pattern: Sharing Creativity SB by Pamela Kay (Rav Link)

Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Caracol – Indecita colorway

Needles: US 13s

This was a pretty easy pattern and I only made one mistake. I found it close the end and chose to live with it. It’s too warm in the Kansas summer for any finished photos on a human. I did use exactly one skein of the Caracol for the second/larger size of this cowl. This means I have a second skein left that I could make a matching pair for this.

I think I will try and make the second one to use up the yarn and to correct for the mistake I made in the first one. Just not sure if I will start this summer or save for the fall?

Happy Knitting!!

Sharing Creativity In The Round

Here is

My Sharing Creativity cowl is now officially in the round!

I still have a decent amount of yarn leftover so I think this will be a one skein project. I really only have 12 rows or so left and I will do the cast off. It calls for an i-cord cast off. Not my favorite but I will probably do it anyway.

Happy Knitting!!

Cast On: Sharing Creativity SB

I decided to wind and start something with the Caracol that I picked up last month.

I chose the Sharing Creativity SB pattern from Pamela Kay. It was made for this yarn and I thought that was prudent. So far the yarn is lovely to work with. These needles however, are very hard to make increases with. Super annoying in fact.

This will be a cowl that has a point in the front. It should keep the wind out nicely. I am curious to see how much yarn this eats up. I have two skeins just in case.

Happy Knitting!!

Trying Caracol

It’s been really tough work this year and I was tempted by the Yarn Barn window while I was on a lunchtime walk during my work day.

I perused the sale section, got a pair of needles to replace ones that broke and didn’t really find anything super exciting. So I went to the malabrigo section and fell in love with this super bulky Caracol. It has a black ply that wraps around a changing core yarn.

I can’t help but think this would knit up to look like stained glass. I think thinking a simple stockinette bulky cowl. I have 180 yards or 300 grams to work with. I can’t decide yet if I will just invent a pattern or find one to work from. And in the meantime this yarn served it’s purpose in lifting my mood!

Happy Stashing!!
