FO: Copycat CC Beanie

My Copycat CC Beanie is complete!

Pattern: Copy.Cat C.C Beanie by Emily Ingrid (Rav Link)

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios in Gris

Needles: US 8s

This finished project used 70 grams of yarn or 147 yards of yarn. Which is amazing because with this scrunched up project looks to teeny. And that makes this project the same size of my “recipe” hats. This pattern was fun enough and I could see myself making more of these but it is quite a lot of purling.

On to the weekend, happy knitting!!

Cast On: Dream State Musselburgh

I decided to work another hat. I had some Knitterly Things Vesper Superwash DK in the Dream State colorway. I got this yarn last year at SSK and It’s been at the top of my list for awhile. This is a self striping yarn so I am working another Mussleburgh.

Based on my gauge shown here I need 120 stitches to make an adult large hat. I really can’t wait to get going in the round and off these DPNs. They are lovely but I keep getting distracted and stabbing myself. Metal DPNs are a bit prickly compared to the wooden ones I use on other hats, lol.

Happy Knitting!!

Cast On: Siren Beanie

The family went out to the ballgame. The Royals are just down the road from us and we took in a Sunday game. We had a lovely brunch before the afternoon game and couldn’t have asked for better weather. The only problem was that I didn’t have any game approved knitting.

I grabbed some Treasure Goddess DK Treasures in the Song of the Sirens Color that was already wound up. I opted for wooden needles to get past security. I made sure to count and cast on during the car ride over.

By the 7th inning stretch I managed to make over an inch of a hat! I think I am going to do a basic stockinette beanie with a folded brim. Just nice pure autopilot knitting.

Happy Baseball season!

Copycat CC Beanie Progress

This CopyCat CC beanie is coming along nicely. Despite my slow purling skills.

I have two full pattern repeats done and starting the third the pattern states. I am tempted to add a fourth but I think for my first go with this pattern I might stick to the pattern. It might come out short/small but there’s a head for every hat right?

This hat is fairly falling off of my needles, I can’t wait to see the finished object. Happy Knitting!!

Cast On: Copycat CC Beanie

After finishing my Radiate Hat, I got my Copycat CC beanie cast on and started. This has been on my wishful knitting planning for a little bit.

I chose to use a skein of Malabrigo Rios that was already wound up and ready to go. The pattern called for twisted ribbing and I failed to do that, oops. But I have almost the full brim done and I need to fold it over and attach before starting the main body pattern.

This is going pretty fast but there is a lot of purling in my future….happy knitting!!

FO: Radiate Hat

The Radiate Hat is done and dusted! I am super pleased with how this warm side turned out. I had just about the same amount of yarn left in each color so the stripes came out super even. And the ‘middle’ fell between the warm and cool colors.

Pattern: Loosely based off the Musselburgh pattern by Joji Locatelli

Yarn: Hue Loco Vivid Sampler Set in DK and KnitCircus DK in Pet Rock Speckle

Needles: US 5s

The cool colors worked out less evenly as my Rainbow Radiate has short rows in the yoke. I used more blues and teals. But the hat is still pretty. I would probably wear this warm side out. I used a whopping 327 yards of yarn for this hat and every bit of the rainbow sampler kit. That felt great!

Now on to the next project/hat! Happy Knitting!!

Finishing The Rainbow

Whelp, I did in fact run out of the rainbow Hue Loco DK yarn on my Radiate Hat.

I pulled some DK scraps from my bin to finish this hat. I went with a neutral grey to mimic the Rainbow Radiate sweater. I chose the KnitCircus speckle DK in the Pet Rock colorway from my Scandia Hat. I have plenty enough to finish this hat. I didn’t weigh for measure the increase section so I am just winging it.

This should be fun! Happy Knitting!!

Closing Out The Rainbow

I ran out of gas yesterday and didn’t feel like posting my hat. On the plus side, the all day meeting generated three new stripes on my Radiate Hat!

It is going to be patently clear that I will need another scrap yarn to finish this out. I am in the blues and have two more blues left after this. And that won’t be enough to get to the length I need for a Musselburgh like hat. I need to search my Ravelry stash to see what I have. Would prefer that instead of buying new yarn.

Happy Knitting!!

Hats In Meetings

This is my week of meetings. So I am documenting how much hat can be made while waiting and listening.

I am on my second shade of pink in my Radiate Hat. I got a few funny looks from the public sitting next to me in this work meeting. But I smiled and knit on. I didn’t get much added to this project when playing Mom Taxi so I am switching up this project’s designated location.

Do you have different projects for different locations?

Mom Taxi Knitting

So the conference knitting was a bit a failure. I managed one purple stripe and started a pink stripe.

So I have pulled this out to work on while being a mom-taxi during this crazy month. I think we have 3 birthdays, 7 school events and 1,000 practices. I am interested to see how the yarn knits up on this as I don’t have equal remaining amount of the colors. Some colors have more as they occurred sooner in the yoke of my sweater than others.

I do like this round and round knitting with a good audio book or podcast to survive the long mom hours. What is your go-to for waiting?

Happy Knitting!!
