After my recent trip into a yarn hole I came out with the most beautiful DK gradient set!

I just KNEW this yarn needed to be a Brass and Steam shawl! I wound up my cake with Russian joining the individual colors so it’s all ready to cast on! I need another WIP like I need a hole in my head but yet here I am…
Doesn’t the cake just look so awesome!!
Guys…..I fell in a yarn hole.

Sadly a yarn store in my region is closing! They were having a 30-60% close out sale and I took the bait. I didn’t NEED any of this yarn but I got a crazy good deal!
I picked up a sweater quantity of Berroco DK for a garment for me. I picked up a main color of grey and a contrast color of royal blue. Then I got three 150 gram skeins of sport weight sock yarn to make socks for the men in my life. I then got two DK gradient skein/kit. The rainbow is from Dove Roving Company and the blue gradient set is Rivulet from Island Yarns.
I know the Rivulet is going to grow up to specifically be an Age of Brass and Steam. All the rest went into my stash ☺️. I don’t know what they want to grow up to be!
Happy Knitting!!
My Miss Babs yarn finally spoke to me! I found the Strands of Gold sock pattern by Linda Garland and thought the yarn floats would be awesome in this highly variagated yarn! It a simple toe up socks with short sections of holding the yarn in front and slipping the stitches behind it.

So these are now called my “Strands of Drunken Watermelon” socks. I set aside some time this week and cast on both toes. The first I put onto my 9 inch circ to work and the second is on DPNs inside the WIP minder that came with the bag.
These are probably going to wait until after I finish my sister’s socks. here’s hoping that helps me fight SSS!
Happy Knitting!!
I kinda let time get away from me. I’ve been in the thick of many large projects at work and at home. I didn’t even think I was getting much knitting time. Then I looked in my purse and saw these….

I managed to finish the first sock of my sister’s second Christmas pair! And then I’m past the heel of the second sock! I could possibly finish this soon. Those words of course could be the death knell for this project, lol.
Happy Wednesday and Happy Knitting!
Boo-yah! Another Christmas knit is in the books! The first pair of my sister’s Christmas socks done done done!
The heels went swimmingly. And look pretty great in my opinion. I even managed to make them almost identical! My project details are here:
Pattern: 68 stitch toe-up vanilla sock
Yarn: Knit Picks Felici in Splash
Needles: US 0s
These babies are now tucked away in my cedar chest awaiting December. They also counted for my May entry towards the Down Cellar Studios 12 Months to Christmas KAL!
Happy Knitting!!
I decided I needed a little selfish sock knitting after the last couple of pairs of socks have been for gift knitting. I have a golden skein, so to speak, sitting in my stash. It’s my first ever Miss Babs yarn. I got the Hotshot base in the Drunken Watermelon color. I have had it since 2016 and it’s been calling me for months.
Well, I listened and it’s wound up and ready to go in my 19 stitches bag. I just haven’t decided if this variegated yarn wants to be a pair of vanilla socks with gusset heel or if it wants to be some other pattern.
I can’t wait to dive into this summer inspired yarn! Happy Knitting!
My purse knitting has seen some action lately. I have had several webinars and waiting room times. The first sock of my second pair for my sister’s Christmas socks are past the heel. Boy, that was some sentence to write….
The yarn is still not striping as clearly as Felici has for me in the past. But again….no one will care but me. And the farther I get on these socks mean the closer I get to Christmas knitting being done!
P.S. Jellybean loves these pinks and keeps asking to help me “yarn” them! ❤
Happy Knitting!
I absolutely adore this blanket! I’ve added three new squares since I last showed you. The diagonal lines that are popping out just make my heart happy. Right now this is my TV knitting of choice.
What do you know knit while watching TV?
I recently got some time home alone while the husband and Jellybean were off on an adventure. I decided to do a LONG overdue airing of the stash. I pulled all my bins out of my yarn shelves and sorted each box. I checked for bugs (none found thank god) and resorted them into what I feel like is better groupings. Purely arbitrary I assure you. But it made me feel good.
I took these hodge podge drawers….
And got all the yarn to fit into my plastic shelving. Literally my whole stash is in this photo…bags, needles and all! I even managed to identify four skeins to de-stash!
Happy Knitting!
