Puppy Dog Eyes And A Sleeve

Duke is doing his best to derail my Autumn Gold Sweater. It’s a good thing he is super cute and very cuddly.

I was in a place where I needed more “autopilot” knitting and that is NOT this sweater body that has a section with moving increases and decreases. So I broke out the short circulars and started one of the sleeves. This is all stockinette and easy symmetric decreases that a can be counted. I made great progress on the first sleeve in my meeting!

I will probably wrap up this sleeve and go ahead and complete the second one while I am at it. That way I have a better shot at the sleeves matching and being the same length. I can count rows and make the second one identical.

I am really liking this project and the speed at which it is going. Remind me of that when I get back to working the body that has a pattern!

Happy Knitting!!

Dog For Cuteness

I don’t really have any updates today. It’s a dreary cold winter Monday morning and I’m struggling to find ambition. Yearning for some sunshine and longer days!

So I decided to just share a cute photo of my baby dog loving on me while I was knitting my Chiefs Hat #7. He was dreaming and snoring and living his best life. Not a bad leg warmer for me either! I would be lost without my puppers….

Happy Monday!

All The WIPs….And A Dog

I have been burning my candle at both ends lately. So I took a Mom’s Night Off and escaped to the basement. Mr. Duke decided to join me. And I snapped this photo decided it was too cute not to share.

I had my computer, my book and like three knitting related projects for one 3-hour Netflix binge session. I have my Wool Tweed Hat, Classy Cashmere Hat and my Sea Slug Hat all rolling around here. And Duke…..completely passed out and snoring. He adores sleeping upside down.

Happy Knitting!!

Copperhead Evening

Pretty proud of my progress on my Copperhead Hat. Duke, however, is not!

I have my DPNs installed and working star like decreases. Meanwhile, Duke would like another walk or more pets. Provided no more house disaster or new work deadlines I should have another finished hat this week.

Also, the kids arts corner is really starting to annoy me. I need to deep clean some time when they are not looking…..

Happy Knitting!!

Dueling Dogs

The kiddos and I tried to take a weekend trip to the grandparents. By my van’s alternator had other plans and we broke down halfway there. Silver lining? Spencer’s godfather and his family rescued us and put us up while the mechanic fixed the van. So we had a perfectly lovely weekend letting our kids get to know each other and Duke found a new playmate!

Mavis a lovely chocolate brown lab and made a picture perfect contrast to my yellow lab. They utterly exhausted each other!

I sure do love puppies!!

An Evening of Crafting

Some days you just have to LET IT GO. My pupper is resolved to destroy the nice dog bed we got him. It’s just happening now. So I grabbed a glass of wine and my spinning to wind down the evening.

Still working on the first half of Frosty Roses singles. I am a little out of the muscle memory sweet spot so these singles are not super consistent. But I’m just happy with the process. I have like two chairs that are comfortable but not easily accessible. So I am experimenting how I can augment other sitting surfaces for ergonomic spinning places. I’ll keep you posted….results are mixed thus far.

Happy Spinning!!

Dog And Crochet

This blog is now a crochet granny stripe blanket blog….for now. We are at Day 11 of my mini skeins and Duke is properly supervising my work.

He is adding just the right amount of dog hair dusting in my work. But he often sleeps on the job.

I recently lent some yarn to a friend for a photo prop and she returned it. It was a bunch of bulky cotton yarn in neutral colors. (See zip lock bag) And instead of putting this all away again I think I will start a chunky granny stripe baby blanket. It can be a gift or a doll blanket for PB?

I mean, why not add to my pile of active WIPs, right? Happy Crafting!

New Addition

I have been a little absent here lately. Work continues at a frenetic pace. I went a little cuckoo and we got a puppy mostly on a whim. I saw a local FB post about a family with a litter of yellow labs and there was ONE left. I was hooked and two days later we have a tiny tornado!

His name is Duke and incredibly intelligent. He is working being potty trained and learning basic commands. And he is very active and playful so my crafting time is non-existent. But he is the sweetest and already bonded with both PB and Jellybean. The kids have been asked to step up and help with puppy chores.

Don’t you just love his smooshy face?!?
