FO Friday: Baby Sophisticate #8

I have another Christmas knit in the bag! My 8th Baby Sophisticate has buttons and is blocked.

Pattern: Baby Sophisticate by Linden Down

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Cherub Aran in Navy (I used just a few yards shy of one full skein of this yarn)

Needles: US 7s

Mods: None

I’m especially proud of the buttons. They are shanked buttons with little sneakers. I found them at the quilt shop I took my mom and aunt to.

This wasn’t my best button band ever. I’m not sure I got the ratio of picked up stitches right. But for a baby knit that is just going to get chewed and puked on….it’s good enough. No one will notice but me. To be honest I’m just glad this is done and I can move on to other things. I seem to be suffering from a bit of the knitting fever, lol.

Happy Knitting!

Stalled Sweater

My Baby Sophisticate has kinda stalled.

I’m down past the underarms and only a few more inches to the bottom ribbing. I just haven’t felt the mojo for this project. The yarn is just kind of splitty and the color so dark. I have just kind of let it marinade because I dearly love the mommy to be. I don’t want to half arse this project!

I have been knitting on my sock yarn memory blanket to clean my pallete. I hope in the next few days to get this sweater booted back up again!

Happy Knitting

Cast On: Another Baby Sophisticate

A dear friend from literally pre-school is having a little baby boy. She and her husband worked and prayed very hard for this miracle. So I want to make something extra special. I’ve already knit a blanket.

Now the little mister needs a sweater! I am going with an old standby…the Baby Sophisticate by Linden Down. I pulled some Cascade Yarns Cherub Aran in a navy colorway from my stash. I bought this for a Jellybean sweater but he quickly outgrew this yardage before I could get knitting.

Ravelry tells me that this is the 8th such sweater I have knit. Nothing wrong with a great classic! Do you have any repeatable patterns?

Finished Finished Finished

Finished finished finished….

In Knitmore Girl speak this means knit, washed/blocked, and finish work done. Both my Baby Sophisticate #6 and #7 are COMPLETELY done thanks to a good Jellybean nap. I’m pleased with both. I even did grosgrain ribbon on the button bands, not to toot my own horn too loudly. Now I just need the babes to get here so I can wrap and deliver them!

Happy Friday!

FO Friday: Baby Sophisticate

I’ve done this pattern now six times and I still simply adore it. The sweater is knit, washed and blocked. I still need to install the buttons and grosgrain ribbon (and weave in the ends) but I couldn’t wait to share this (almost) FO!

I think I’m going to wait until I can dig through my mom’s button and ribbon stash. 😜

Happy Knitting!

More Little Old Man Sweaters

I’m in that season of life where my friends are having ALL THE BABIES. And lately it’s been a string of boys which suits me fine because like I said last week, I’m obsessed with tiny baby old man sweaters!

I couldn’t resist and started another Baby Sophisticate by Linden Down. This time out of some deep stash Bernat Satin in Royal Blue. This is destined for a little boy that if he’s anything like his sister he’s going to have the most amazing blue eyes.

I’m just now ready to separate from the sleeves. And of course do the finishing on my Uptown Worsted baby sophisticate….

Happy Knitting!
