Sock What!?

My Antimuon Socks have an almost HO! I finished the first tube of the first sock. All I need to do is insert the afterthought heel. I should have more than enough yarn. And I started the toe of the second sock right before the hubby and I went to see Wonder Woman.

A) The movie was highly entertaining and Chris Pine is nice to look at.

B) I got several inches of sock knit!

But I noticed something a little kooky in the light of day after the movie. See if you can see it
I thought the hubby had gotten a matching sock set. Nope, this is an Isomer set which means they coordinate but do not match. The second sock is doing what the yarn label says it should.

They are still pretty. I think I’ll keep them 😁

Happy Knitting!!

WIP Wednesday: Terribly Simple #2

I’m not sure what I did during long car trips before knitting. Thanks to my husband driving, because he knows I like to knit, my Terribly Simple shawl has grown!

It’s a one row repeat that is perfectly soothing garter stitch. I’m improvising on the pattern a wee bit. I’m doing 10 garter ridges of the variegated yarn and then 2 garter ridges of the solid color yarn. So that 20 and four rows respectively. It’s getting quite big and scrunched up on the needles. I do admit that I stop and pet this project from time to time in-between rows….

Tracking Progress

For as prolific knitter as I attempt to be, one item I rarely use is a progress keeper marker. I simply don’t own any. Well I remedied that ☺️

I picked up a set from Etsy. The lobster claws are perfect and they are adorably knitting themed! I have even put them to use.

I placed one on my drunken watermelon socks. I don’t touch these very often so it will be good to get a visual reminder of my progress.

So do you guys use progress keepers?

Cuff Territory

My Antimuon Vanilla Socks have seen some decent progress this week. The stripes really are addicting!

I have started the cuff but I’m not sure how much taller I’m going to get. It may come down to yarn management. You can see my heel waist yarn in the light color. I know I want to start with a navy section right before a green stripe. Just to satisfy my own OCD. So I may knit the cuff until I get to that repeat. I’ll just have to see.

Happy Knitting!!

WIP Wednesday: Terribly Simple

My Terribly Simple is growing slowly but surely!

Just rows and rows of soothing garter stitch! And the best part is that it’s a one row repeat so no memorization. All I have to do is count garter ridges in order to keep my sections the same and make sure I start the contrast color on the right side row.

I’m kind of excited to have coordinating shawls!

Just One More Stripe

I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of self striping yarn. My current pair of self striping socks leaves me just wanting “one more stripe before I stop”.

I even went so far as to knit past the heel placement and has to tink back three rows! You can just see my waist yarn peaking at the top. I’m in love with String Theory Colorworks and their striping genius. I love how the brights pop against the navy!

Happy Knitting!!

WIP Wednesday: Nangou

My Nangou is in the final stretch!

I’ve completed all the contrast stripes and now working the final MC section. I have exactly six pattern repeats and bind off to go! The rows are getting very long. I can barely get two full repeats in on an evening. So progress feels like it is slow.

But I’m itching to get this done. Why? I’m not sure because it’s 90 degrees outside. I just want to squee over the precious when it’s done!

Happy Knitting!!

Conference Call Knitting

I haven’t mentioned my Strands of Drunken Watermelon socks in awhile. Well, they have been living in my office desk at work. I have had a spate of webinars and conference calls lately so they have seen a little growth.

I’m pleased with the pattern and it’s use of slipped stitches. It’s blending the highly variagated yarn so nicely!

I do need to take care to make sure I know what row of the four row repeat I’m on. I’ve had to tink back a time or two….

Slowly but surely these will grow! Happy Knitting!!

WIP Wednesday: Nangou Shawl

I’m three contrast stripes in! My Nangou is growing despite being close to 300 stitches per row.

I have to finish the current MC section then add another CC section and then finally add the last MC section and bind off. Between the pleasing colors and the rhythm of garter I’m fairly dedicated to this project. I’ve been rewatching The West Wing along with listening to the West Wing Weekly podcast and this project is a great match to Knitflixing.

I have enough yarn to add more sections and I’m torn. The pattern schematic tells me this is going to be 70 inches wide. Well….I didn’t check gauge so I’m not sure if I’m going to be ahead or behind of that. I want something big and squishy this leading me to adding another section. But I’m also ready to finish this and admire the finished pretty. I guess time will tell what I decide when I get closer to the end, lol.

Happy Knitting!

Family Reunions and Knitting

Hurrah! I come triumphant and exhausted from a family reunion. There were lots of hugs and lots of knitting! My Dad’s socks are almost done!

I turned the heel and started up the leg! I know for sure I didn’t count extremely well while conversating because I had to fudge the final couple of rounds of the heel turn before continuing in the round. Shhh….no one will tell!

For now I’m now I’m going to attempt to dig out of the major sleep deprivation of a long wonderful weekend…

(My grandma and I ❤️)
