All The Peices

I have persevered this week and forced myself to concentrate on my Dumpster Fire pieces.

I was too lazy to find pins or a blocking mat. So these got a good soak and I just spread them out on an old towel. I need to pull out the pattern to remember if I seam these all together first….or do the duplicate stitch first.

I think I am only a couple hours away from these being done. And it’s barely any yarn used. Should I make a third for myself so we can have a trio to match?

Happy New Year and Happy Knitting!!

Finished: 2025 Cozy Knitter Advent Socks

My 2025 Advent Socks are done!

These really hummed along in the background of Christmas activities. Knitting about 4 rows each sock each day was super easy. The flecks did get a little fiddly. However, I did end up with enough yarn to knit the heels in the sparkle mini that came with the set.

Pattern: My own basic 68 stitch toe up sock with afterthought heel

Needles: US 1s

Yarn: Cozy Knitter Bliss Sock in the 2025 advent colorway

This year the Cozy Knitter went back to a rainbow theme and I’m not mad at it. I used exactly half of the self striping yarn and almost all of the contrast mini. So I can make a second pair of socks and I’ll just need to find another mini for the heels. And skip the flecking this time.

Did you advent this year?

Cast On: Dumpster Fire 2025

I am making a few New Years gifts from some colleagues at work. It’s been one heck of a finish to 2025 and I thought Dumpster Fires would be very appropriate.

I need to crank out two ornaments. The pieces knit up super quick and its the seaming that I am dreading. And to be honest, the duplicate stitch of the year at the end. I never really have mastered that part….

Happy Knitting!!

A Very Large Swiftie Finish

The Swiftie Hat is done AND blocked. Boy Howdy this hat finish our LARGE.

Pattern: Touchdown Beanie by Katie Carlson (Rav Link)

Needles: US 5s

Yarn: Treasure Goddess Warmth Worsted in the Chiefs kit

Mods: I extended the ribbing to make a larger folded section

This hat blocked and definitely relaxed. The hat is probably, honestly, too big. Its very loose and slouchy. This version of the Touchdown Beanie used 178 yards of yarn or just about 82 grams. I am a little disappointed in myself for not checking my gauge since last year. Technically this is a hat that functions, just not what I intended.

I have enough the Treasure Goddess yarns that I could make a white version and change where the colors go. I am going to do some thinking on that!

Happy Boxing Day and may your knitting be relaxing!!

Swiftie Decreases

Merry Christmas Eve! The Swiftie Hat is SOO close to being done. Here is where I stopped yesterday in my staff meeting.

I have ZERO clue where my US 5 DPNs are so I am thinking I will just use magic loop or two circulars to finish the hat. I don’t have any energy to go digging through the craft supplies. Santa is almost here!

Happy Knitting!!

All The Letters

The chart portion of the Swiftie Hat is complete and shining by the fire

I cranked most of the rows out in a single evening of post kid bedtime knitting. I think the colorwork is getting easier with practice. I cut the red yarn leaving a tail to weave in on either side of the letters. It used less yarn and was less fussy than carrying all the way around.

I am hoping to make this a New Year’s present…maybe. So the deadline is motivating me. I just need to crank through the decreases!

Happy Knitting!!

Swiftie Chart

Christmas is upon us and I’m procrasti-knitting. I can’t put this Swiftie Beanie down.

The brim is done and I have worked the set up to get started on the colorwork chart.I need to get some focus time so that I don’t mess up the chart or work it backwards like my Crown Town Hat, lol.

I have counted and started the first few stitches for the chart and stopped for better light. And besides, Duke was pouting and waiting for his head scritches….

Happy Knitting!!

Another Folded Brim

The 2025 Conference Hat has a turned brim and is roasty toasty in front of the fire.

My ball of Yarns Northwest Silk and Merino is disappearing rapidly so I need to dig out the second ball from my stash in order to finish this hat. I can still work this one on auto pilot after getting the brim turned.

It’s been hard to keep working on this one as the Swiftie Beanie has been calling to me to work on. The bigger yarn and changing colors are giving me more dopamine than solid color in the round.

Happy Knitting!!

Book Treats

Santa is getting ready to come to town. And as I am Santa…I decided that I earned some extra treats for all my hard work.

PB and Jellybean are both getting books for Christmas this year as they are both becoming quite the book lovers. PB even leveled up this year with adding reading glasses to help her accuracy. So Mom deserves some new books as well.

I picked up three fiction books: Wedding People by Alison Espach, A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson and The Life Possible by Matt Haig. I think I will pick one out for a Christmas break read…

Happy Reading!!
