Cast On: Round Yoke Pullover

With my Love Note almost done and my swatch successful, I couldn’t help but start my next sweater. This creatively called “Basic Round Yoke Unisex Pullover” and I think I will just called my Round Yoke Pullover for simplicity.

I chose the 44 3/4 bust size for the pattern. I really like this starts with a knitted collar. I might have gone done an even smaller needle size for the ribbing. And this will be a nice easy/wide collar regardless. I can always go back and crochet a stronger foundation.

I had to get some work done on the Rachelle-mobile at the dealer. Dang kids denting my doors! So I managed to get a couple of increases done and several inches of sweater. I didn’t feel like lugging my huge Love Note so this got all the love.

Time For A Hem

My Love Note is so close to being done! I am finally at the hem of the longer version.

I am under half of the last skein of sock yarn and on my last ball of mohair. I briefly considered making this longer but I don’t want to play yarn chicken with hand dyed sock yarn that I can’t easily source.

This will be a cropped sweater by my standards and I think that is going to be fine. I have a specific dress I want to wear this with. I will have to do some figuring on what kind of pants I will want to wear this with, if I do at all.

Happy Sweater Knitting!!

Love Note

I’m still here being the mom taxi and chugging away on my Love Note.

I have decided to make the longer version rather than the cropped version. I have a good chunk of my Old Rusted Chair sock yarn left and just one single skein of the mohair left. I don’t think I will be playing yarn chicken.

I have noticed a few places where I didn’t both strands. I try to correct them as much as a I can but the mohair really hides the mistakes. I can also go back and duplicate stitch over them anyway.

Decreasing This Hat

I passed my online training and took a HUGE load off my brain. And in the process I got my Online Training Hat all the way to the decreases

I know this is DK being worked on Worsted gauge, but I don’t think it is causing any issues. The hat may be more on the smaller snug size and it will still be adult size. I think 20 more minutes of knitting and I will have a finished hat!

I still have a decent ball of yarn left and therefore leftover will be involved. My next hat WIP might need to be a Musselburgh and use more scraps as that bag is full.

Happy Knitting!!

Collar And Sleeves

It’s been a minute since I showed you my Love Note and I got a wild hair to abandon the body and work the finishing part.

I knit the sleeves according to pattern but on a US 8 instead of the US 9 I am doing for the body. I just couldn’t find small circumference needles in the correct needles size. After knitting both sleeves, the gauge is close enough. I used half of the second skein of sock yarn and almost a full ball of mohair for these.

And I deviated from pattern on the collar. I followed all the directions but I didn’t use the super small needles called for. I used size 8s to make sure I had wide enough and stretchy enough collar to fit over my noggin.

Now to just cruise through the body and high/low hem for a finished sweater! Happy Knitting!!

Setting The Order

I am really on the struggle bus with this second bobbin for my mini fiber combo spin.

To say this fiber is all over the map is an understatement. There is toothy long wool and ultra find merino with everything in-between. I have been struggling to keep a consistent fine single and with the transition between minis

I have just a few minis left, so I have them planned out to the end. I couldn’t help making sure to break them up so that no one color is next to each other. I just can’t help myself that I need the appearance of randomness without too many colors bunching up.

I can’t wait to finish this! Happy Spinning!!

Online Training Hat Brim

I am past the infernal one by one ribbing on my Online Training Hat! Though I am still stuck in the training classes…

The brim is folded and attached and I can cruise along in stockinette now. I could have done the attachment a little bit better as it is not as stretchy as I would normally desire. But now I need to get back to ceaseless training and note taking…

Happy Knitting!!

Dividing For Love Note

I am past the infernal lace patterning on my Love Note. I finally got the hang of it by the last four rows.

I knit down from the lace and got the sleeves divided. This thing is shedding ALL OVER the place. I think I am going to knit down just a wee bit and then start the sleeves. I will use the other skein of sock yarn to make the sleeves consistent. I haven’t decided if I will do the short or long body.

May even get wild and knit the neckline before finishing the body….

Happy Knitting!!

Studying With Hats

One by one ribbing is quite something. My Online Training Hat is slowly growing as I watch slide dec after slide dec.

I am finally more confident and comfortable with flicking and switching between knits and purls. I am getting faster without having to drop the needles or the working yarn. Well, as fast as you can be in one by one rib LOL.

This DK yarn is working up more like a worsted. I think I should be fine at this gauge and needle size. The hat might could be small or could be fine. There is a head for every hat!

Happy Knitting!!

Love Note Afternoon

It’s been second summer here in the Midwest so I guess I am hammock knitting sweaters instead of wearing them. I am struggling through the lace pattern in my Love Note.

I am having trouble counting and keeping all this straight. Is it hard lace? No. But I am still making a ton of mistake and instead of ripping back I am just making it work. In mohair and this much lace….it will never show!

I have five or six rows of lace left and I can leave this part behind! Just need to buckle down and get to the cruising part of this sweater. Happy Knitting!!
